Sea Glass House replaced an older property on a steep site overlooking St Mawes. Large glazed openings, frameless balustrades and a pool terrace built over a stone retaining wall make the most of the view. Architect, structural and M&E engineers, interior designer and landscape designer were all coordinated through construction to deliver a finished house with no loose ends.
Why it matters for a Dubai villa
Knock-down-and-rebuild on an established plot is now a common route on the Palm and in Emirates Hills. The challenges are the same: retaining structures, a pool over a slab, glazing at scale and many consultants to coordinate.
